Dr. Aphichaya Suthammawat
Specialty : Dentistry
Subspecialty : General Dentistry
Spoken : Thai / English
Dr. Aphichaya is considered to be among a new generation of dentists, but there is more to her caliber and determination than meets the eye. She was born in Phuket and among the crème de la crème of students being fit enough to get enrolled to the Faculty of Dentistry, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand’s most prestigious university in Bangkok. After garnering a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS.) in 2013, she chose to work for hospitals in rural areas of Phang Nga province in Southern Thailand during 2013 – 2015. This provided a unique chance for her not only to be exposed to common dental and oral health problems among local people, but also to actively participate in a community-focused project to screen, provide fluoride therapy, refer, and educate children and the elderly about oral health. This philanthropic endeavor won her the Most Valuable Staff Award of Bangsai Hospital 2014 – chosen by staff in Bangsai Hospital, Phang Nga, Thailand.
Her recent academic activity includes the 8th Annual Meeting of the Thai Cleft Lip-Palate and Craniofacial Association: International Congress, in November 2015. She is currently an associated member of the Thai Dental Council and Princess Mother’s Medical Volunteer Foundation.
